Drug find, police quiz suspect

Update: 1:14PM A VILLAGER from Sigatoka, has been taken in by police after he was found to be allegedly cultivating marijuana in the village.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the plants were found by the village headman.

"The turaga-ni-koro (headman) reported the matter to Sigatoka police where the officer-in-charge and his team confiscated the pot plants and also the suspect was escorted to the Sigatoka Police Station," he said.

He said the suspect was arrested, interviewed and then released.

Police have also confirmed samples of the suspected illegal herbs have been taken for further tests.
