Court refuses Chaudhry's application

Update: 1:03PM HIGH Court judge Justice Paul Madigan this morning refused two applications made by former prime minister Mahendra Chanudhrys lawyer Anand Singh regarding his sentence.

Justice Madigan said the stay application on sentencing was refused and deemed it as an inappropriate application.

He also refused the application for suspended sentence saying it was not appropriate.

Chaudhry was found guilty of three counts of breaching the Exchange Control Act.
