Monitor rising water level, residents told

Saturday, May 17, 2014

Update: 4:23PM RESIDENTS living along the Sigatoka and Qoli rivers in Nadroga and Navosa are advised to be vigilant and monitor the rising river level.

The warning from provincial administrator Peni Koro comes after heavy rainfall battered the better part of the Western Division most of today.

"These residents are aware of the incidents of flash-flooding in their areas," he said.

"I am requesting those living along the Sigatoka River banks and streams, including those in low-lying areas to closely monitor the weather reports."
