Heavy rain trigger minor floodings

Update: 3:21PM HEAVY rain in the Western Division has resulted in small waterways overflowing onto roadways.

An Irish crossing at Navula in Saru was inundated with rushing water, making it impassable.

Elsewhere, heavy rain has caused minor flooding on the Kings Rd leading from Tavua to Rakiraki.

National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) director Manasa Tagicakibau has advised the general public to continue listening to the radio for further information regarding a heavy rain warning that was issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service earlier today.

"All drivers must take precautions while driving in low-lying or flood-prone areas due to possible flooding during the night," he said.
