PREPARATION works for the next harvesting season in the Labasa sugar mill has entered the final stages, says Fiji Sugar Corporation chairman Abdul Khan.

Mr Khan said preparation works at the mill and the upgrade of the railway system in the North were expected to end by mid-June.

"All the lines are undergoing maintenance of some nature with the major maintenance being carried out on the Wainikoro line," he said.

The Nagigi line was among upgraded railway lines.

Mill manager Christopher Karia said upgrade works would also include the relaying of tramlines.
