Police issue 7 restraining orders

Update: 4:13PM A TOTAL of seven domestic violence related restraining orders were issued by police in Koronubu settlement, Ba, since the start of the year.

This was revealed by police during a presentation to Minister of Women, Poverty Alleviation and Social Welfare Dr Jiko Luveni this week.

Koronubu Women's Club president Reena Prasad says this has decreased because of the awareness programs on the Domestic Violence Decree conducted in the community.

Ms Prasad said it was a proud moment for the community when Dr Jiko Luveni declared the village violence-free this week.
