IN an article titled Second extradition attempt that was published on page 7 of the May 9, 2014, edition, it was stated that the State will try another attempt to extradite the fugitive, Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, and an application for trial in absentia was made.
This was incorrect. The State has not made an application for trial in absentia and stated that it was considering renewing its application for extradition.
IN another article titled Chaudhry files appeal application published the same day on the same page, the article wrongly stated Chaudhry's sentence of a 12-month parole period. It should have read 12 months non-parole period. The error is regretted.
