Processes in place

Salaseini Moceiwai

NO nurses have been deregistered or terminated so far as a result of complaints against them or their services.

While such complaints are becoming an issue, nursing director Silina Waqa-Ledua said they had disciplinary processes in place that looked after such matters.

"We acknowledge there have been some challenging issues concerning the conduct of nurses and the Fiji Nursing Council is working to address them," she said.

"We have processes and the council has come up with the reviewing of the nurses' codes of ethics. This is among other redresses we are taking to curb such complaints.

"Right now, no nurses have been deregistered or terminated from his/her job."
