LAUTOKA Summer Cup champion Abdul Jalal is one of the favourites to win the 18-hole Ba Golf Club championship in Ba today.

The top golfer is expected to weave his magical touches against the best golfers in Ba to help him to win the Summer Cup.

Tournament organiser Rajesh Prasad said the presence of Jalal would lift the standard of the competition.

He said Jalal would also provide tough competition to the top Ba golfers.

"We anticipate exciting competition from the 20 participating golfers," said Prasad.

"This will be an opportunity for our upcoming golfers to gauge their performance against some seasonal and renowned golfers in the West.

"Jalal will be joined by two more top golfers in Lautoka and it will be interesting to witness the rivalry."

Prasad said the tournament would also unleash two under-17 Ba golfers in Sahil Singh and Eroni.

He said the duo were also likely to cause upsets during the tournament.
