A MOTHER and her three year old daughter are dead following an accident that involved two buses.

The incident happened at the Suva Bus Stand about 4.30pm yesterday.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said a Dee Cees bus hit a parked Nasese Bus which led to the death of the two.

"The mother and her daughter were rushed to the CWM Hospital where they were pronounced dead," Insp Sokomuri said.

An eye witness who preferred anonymity said the driver of the Dee Cees bus was speeding and failed to steer in the right direction causing it to hit the Nasese Bus.

The driver of the bus is in police custody.

Police investigations continue.
