Drop in airline debt

Felix Chaudhary
Wednesday, May 07, 2014

FIJI Airways has reduced how much it owes the Fiji National Provident Fund and has also made early repayments to the financial institution.

The national carrier's managing director and CEO Stefan Pichler said the loan amount was now $60million lower than the initial agreed figure of $181.2million.

Fiji Airways' ability to raise money from European banks for the acquisition of three Airbus A330 aircraft has resulted in the airline choosing not to draw down $35.5million left over from the original loan with FNPF.
