IGELESE Ete, the director of Karmen, believes Fiji is ready for more opera musicals following a successful production of the show which ended on Saturday night.

Mr Ete, also the head of USP's Oceania Centre of Arts, said the cast of Karmen proved themselves and the show to the people of Fiji.

"It's been a really beautiful performance," Mr Ete said.

"This is a new genre for the Pacific and these young actors did a brilliant job in portraying this on stage.

"For most of the performers, it is their first time to take part in an opera musical which is even why Karmen should be appreciated even more."
