THE High Court in Suva has ordered corrections and police officers to appear and explain themselves this Friday after they released an accused on bail while he was remanded by the High Court.

Missing is accused Cama Qerewaqa who, after being set free, failed to appear in court again.

Judge Justice Salesi Temo asked the State prosecution to ensure the corrections staff and the police officers who allowed the release of Mr Qerewaqa to be present in court.

"The case will be called on May 9 again and these people will have to explain why the accused was released when this court had remanded him," he said.
