Fashion excites children at mini show

FIJI Fashion Week is excited to do more work with the Suva City Library following a tremendous response from the children in a mini fashion show yesterday.

FJFW managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight spoke to the children about fashion, designing and conducted an exercise where each child designed a garment.

A mini fashion show showcasing the summer collection of young designer Tadra Knight was also part of the program

"We were invited to do activities for children and because it's also the school holidays, they came up with the idea to do a fashion show which we were only glad to oblige because for FJFW, we know that it starts from the grassroots level.

"And what we are trying to do is get fashion education into the schools but most importantly, bring art back into schools as a subject from Year 1 to Year 13."
