53,000 to benefit

RESIDENTS of the Nadroga Navosa sub-division in Sigatoka will have better health care accessibility.

This is after a $200,000 renovation to the Sigatoka Hospital.

The project was funded by the Australian Government through the Fiji Health Sector Support Program.

The renovated Specialist Outpatient Department and child health clinic will benefit about 53,000 and was opened by the visiting Australian Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Brett Mason, yesterday.

Mr Mason said a healthy population lay at the heart of any form of development.

Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma said they were grateful for the aid provided by Australia.
