Man dies after logging mishap

Update: 11:00AM A 36-year-old chainsaw operator died yesterday when a pine tree fell on him while working along the Nawailevu hills in Lekutu, Dreketi.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the incident occurred between 4 and 5pm.

Ms Naisoro said the victim was rushed to the Lekutu Health Centre where he received treatment while awaiting a doctor from Labasa Hospital.

However, at 10pm, the victim was pronounced dead after an operation.
