THE Mohammed Badshah Memorial Rapid Open chess tournament will be held on Sunday, May 4 in the conference room on Level 4 of Tappoo City. The tournament will start at 8.30am.



BUSINESS House FUTSAL competition will start on May 8 at the FMF Gymnasium. All interested business house teams that want to take part to contact 9694417. Registration fees $170. Restricted only for business houses and government departments. Closing date for registration May 2.


Gold Rush golf tournament

CHARITY Hole in One - 1kg Silver Bar. A reminder that these are stand-alone tournaments so you can play 1, 2, 3 or 4 tournaments and be in to win the Gold Bar. THE Srixon Cleveland Classic will be played at Nadi Airport Golf Club from May 3-4 over 36 holes. Entry fee is $60 per player, includes lunch and cocktail. Contact Amitesh Chandra on 9923191. Entries open to all.



FRIENDLY games will be held at Qereqere Courts this Saturday at 9am. Registration starts at 8am with the fee of $20 per team. New Vision Bure

A NETBALL tournament will be held at the Wainibuka School grounds on May 8 and 9. Only the first 12 teams to pay $70 entry fee will be accommodated. Winner gets $300 and runner-up will get $150. Contact Viri on 9513657.


THE NewWorld Suva Netball Association will conduct an umpire's clinic today at the FASANOC conference room from 5.30pm. All club affiliates are to send their reps to this clinic.


THE Tailevu Netball Association season opening knockout will be held on May 3 at the Vunivivi Multi-Purpose Court from 10am. Registration fee is $150. Closing date for registrations is May 1. Registration forms could be collected from Unaisi on 9330349 or Losana on 9268347 or Miriama on 9906300. All teams are to bring a plate each for morning tea. President Unaisi Ravouvou will be the chief guest.


Indo-Fijian 7s

THE Fiji Indo Rugby Union (FIRU) 7s tournament will be held on May 24 in Lautoka. All interested Fiji Indo rugby cubs wishing to participate are invited to register. Entry fee is $100 and total prize money is $800. Contact FIRU organizers Alvin Nair (East) on 9270071 and Aaron Phillip (West) on 9994227 for further information. FIRU is requesting Fiji Indo rugby clubs to pay their affiliation fees for the 2014 season. Club affiliation is $25. New clubs are invited to join.

New Vision Bure 7s

THE tournament will be held at Wainibuka Secondary School ground on May 8 and 9. Fee is $200 and only 24 teams will be accommodated. The main prize is $1700 and runner-up gets $800. Prizes also for plate and bowl winners. Entry fee due on April 29. Contact 9000279 or 9513657 for more information.

Serua Circuit 7s

SCW 7s

THE SCW 7s tournament will be held at the Suva Grammar School ground on May 3. First 16 teams to pay $150 entry fee by May 2 will be accommodated. Winner gets $1000. Contact 9369559 or 9728548.

Yamacia 7s

Nausori Cowboys

PLAYERS interested in joining the Nausori Cowboys Rugby League team for this season are to attend training at Syria Park from Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday May 1 from 5pm and on Saturday from 9.30am. 2014 Series

THE fifth event of the 2014 Marco Polo Triathlon Series is on this Saturday at the Navy Base at Togalevu and our sponsors Marco Polo have prices ranging from bike accessories to Bikes and Flat screen TVs for all categories of the competition. With the mornings getting hotter much earlier the starts for the different events have been moved forward as detailed below:

Olympic Distance (18y&Over)-1.5kmSw/40kmBik/10kmRun-Registration: 6am. Race Start: 6.30am.

Sprint Distance (16y&Over)-750mSw/20kmBik/5kmRun-Registration: 6.30am. Race Start: 7am

Supersprint (13y & Over)-375mSw/10kmBik/2.5kmRun-Registration: 6.30am. Race Start 7am.

Could all participants ensure that their bikes are sorted out by Friday (Purchases or Hire: Wah Sing- 9927152, servicing John-8651505) as it is not possible to do that on Saturday morning. All cyclists are encouraged to form (male or female) teams with others who are able to swim and or run if required.

Biking distances are 20k-sprint or 40k Olympic and you will need to advise Wah Sing on 9927152 (or John Fox on 9905414 by midday on the Friday before the race so that we can arrange your teams.



A tournament will be held at Qereqere Hard Courts on Friday from 1pm and Saturday from 8am. Registration closes Thursday at 6pm. Registration fee is $30 per team. Winner gets $100 and runner-up gets $50. Also prizes for best player and best disciplined team. Interested clubs are to contact treasurer on 9288462 or Simione Lewesi on 8415277. All club managers are to attend the meeting on Wednesday at 5.30pm at Qereqere Courts. All clubs are to bring a plate.


THE Ovea volleyball tournament will be held at the village grounds on May 3. First 20 teams to pay the registration fee of $50 will be accommodated.

THE Nadroga/Navosa Provincial Youth Tournament will be held at Lawaqa Park on May 8 and 9.
