Green initiatives

Tevita Vuibau
Wednesday, April 30, 2014

GREEN initiatives in the Pacific, which have yet to see the light of day because of funding issues, could soon be brought in from the dark with the Pacific American Climate Fund.

The fund-administered by the US Government is dedicated to providing grants to NGOs that are hoping to become more climate resilient and develop more environment NGOs.

Responding to questions on what the US, as one of the largest carbon producers in the world, was doing to assist Pacific Islands most at risk of climate change, regional environmental officer Jason Brenden said the fund was one of these.

Mr Brenden made the comments while speaking at a seminar celebrating World Earth Day.
