Countdown to expo

WITH less than one week to go before the start of the inaugural Fijian Tourism Expo at the brand new Denarau Convention Centre, about 16,000 business appointments have been booked between local exhibitors and international buyers.

Tourism Fiji CEO Rick Hamilton said the requests made via the Fijian Tourism Expo's online portal was nothing short of phenomenal.

"The Fijian Tourism Expo is the one time where the entire Fijian tourism industry has the opportunity to present their products and services to over 150 international buyers," he said.

"That buyers and exhibitors have already confirmed 16,000 appointments is quite staggering and shows just how enthusiastic both exhibitors and buyers are about this event."

About 40 international buyers jetted into the country over the past two days to take pre-expo familiarisation trips.
