Towage firm contemplates expansion

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Update: 11:39AM A MARINE towage and salvage company in Fiji and the Solomon Islands hopes to expand its fleet by purchasing another three tugboats in the future.

However, Douglas Salvage & Towage Limited spokesman Selwyn Douglas said this would depend on business demands.

The Douglas family started the company by acquiring four tugboats from Australia, with two stationed in Fiji and the other two tugboats based in Honiara, he said.

He said the two tugs in Fiji, Broadsound and Bellarine, had completed safety surveys and were ready to begin operations.
