CHESS

THE Mohammed Badshah Memorial Rapid Open chess tournament will be held on Sunday, May 4 in the conference room on Level 4 of Tappoo City. The tournament will start at 8.30am.

FOOTBALL

Futsal

BUSINESS House FUTSAL competition will start on May 8 at the FMF Gymnasium. All interested business house teams that want to take part to contact 9694417. Registration fees $170. Restricted only for business houses and government departments. Closing date for registration May 2.

GOLF

Gold Rush golf tournament

INTERESTED golfers are invited to enter for one of Fiji's most prestigious amateur golfing events. Total events prize value is $40,000. Four individual one-day net stroke play mixed tournaments with great prizes. The events will be held on May 3, June 7, July 12 and August 9. Points accumulate towards the major gold bar prize. Srixon Classic

THE Srixon Cleveland Classic will be played at Nadi Airport Golf Club from May 3-4 over 36 holes. Entry fee is $60 per player, includes lunch and cocktail. Contact Amitesh Chandra on 9923191. Entry open to all.

NETBALL

Navosa

FRIENDLY games will be held at Qereqere Courts this Saturday at 9am. Registration starts at 8am with the fee of $20 per team. Clubs are to come and support the Navosa netball 2014 season and clubs are to be in proper uniform and sports gear. Contact Judy on 9949410. Knockout will be held on May 10 with the registration fee of $100 per team.

New Vision Bure

A NETBALL tournament will be held at the Wainibuka School grounds on May 8 and 9. Only the first 12 teams to pay $70 entry fee will be accommodated. Winner gets $300 and runner-up will get $150. Contact Viri on 9513657.

Tailevu

THE Tailevu Netball Association season opening knockout will be held on May 3 at the Vunivivi Multi-Purpose Court from 10am. Registration fee is $150. Closing date for registrations is May 1. President Unaisi Ravouvou will be the chief guest.

RUGBY

Indo-Fijian 7s

THE Fiji Indo Rugby Union (FIRU) 7s tournament will be held on May 24 in Lautoka. All interested Fiji Indo rugby cubs wishing to participate are invited to register. FIRU is requesting Fiji Indo rugby clubs to pay their affiliation fees for the 2014 season. Club affiliation is $25. New clubs are invited to join. New Vision Bure 7s

THE tournament will be held at Wainibuka Secondary School ground on May 8 and 9. Fee is $200 and only 24 teams will be accommodated. The main prize is $1700 and runner-up gets $800. Prizes also for plate and bowl winners. Entry fee due on April 29. Contact 9000279 or 9513657 for more information.

Serua Circuit 7s

SCW 7s

THE SCW 7s tournament will be held at the Suva Grammar School ground on May 3. First 16 teams to pay $150 entry fee by May 2 will be accommodated. Winner gets $1000. Contact 9369559 or 9728548.

Wairiki

THE Wairiki Logging Limited 7s tournament will be held on June 27 and 28 at the Wairiki (Bua) village grounds. Entry fee is $200 and prizemoney is $2000. Prizes also for plate and bowl winners. Vanuakula 7s

THE Bula FM Vanuakula 7s tournament will be held on June 20 and 21. 32 teams will be accommodated. Entry fee is $300. Winner gets $3000 and runner up gets $1500. Prizes will also be given out to plate and bowl winners. 12 teams will be accommodated in the U19 competition. Entry fee is $110 and main prize is $500. Prizes will also be given out to plate and bowl winners. 15 teams will accommodated for the netball competition. Entry fee is $100 and winner gets $700. Yamacia 7s

Marist

THE Marist volleyball tournament will be held on June 27 and 28 in Suva. Registration fee is $450 for men's and $300 for women's. Registration closes on June 14. Navosa

A tournament will be held at Qereqere Hard Courts on Friday from 1pm and Saturday from 8am. Registration closes Thursday at 6pm. Registration fee is $30 per team. Winner gets $100 and runner-up gets $50. Also prizes for best player and best disciplined team. Interested clubs are to contact treasurer on 9288462 or Simione Lewesi on 8415277. All club managers are to attend the meeting tomorrow at 5.30pm at Qereqere Courts. All clubs are to bring a plate.

Ovea

Nadroga/Navosa

THE Nadroga/Navosa Provincial Youth Tournament will be held at Lawaqa Park on May 8 and 9. Rugby 7s - Under-17 and U19 -entry fee is $50 and the winner will receive $500 and losing finalist will collect $200. Only first 24 teams each in both grades who have paid their registration fees will be accommodated. Open grade - entry fee is $100 and the winner will get $2000 and the runner-up $1000. The losing semi-finalists get $500 each while the losing quarter-finalists gets $200 each. The plate winner will get $500 while runner-up $200 and the bowl winner will receive $300 and runner-up $150. Only the first 48 teams with the registration paid in full will be accommodated. Netball: Open grade - entry fee is $30 and the winner will get $200 while runner-up $100. Only first 48 teams with their registration fees paid in full will be accommodated. Volleyball: Open grade - entry fee is $30 for men's and women's grades. The winner gets $300 and runner-up $150. Only first 48 teams in both grades with fees paid in full will be accommodated. Payments of the registration fees will be collected by Semi Tanikili 9384636 or Jorama Ratulevu 9305510/9550254/7273543/7915167. Entries due on April 30. First chance will be given to youth clubs in the province.
