Island party turns sour

Update: 10:35AM A 21-YEAR-old farmer is in police custody in relation to the death of a 34-year-old man on Rabi Island in Vanua Levu yesterday morning.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the two allegedly fought during a drinking party. They were drinking with three others.

"While this was happening, the other three men left the two and ran away with the liquor," she said.

At around 6am, a 12-year-old student saw the victim lying in the village centre and alerted the neighbours. The victim was taken to the Rabi Health Centre.

Police investigations continue.
