Car club hosts race

THE Fiji Car Club is expecting a good turnout from car enthusiasts at their quarter-mile drag race tomorrow.

The event is the second for the year and club president Raizal Haniff said good weather would bring out a lot of competitors and spectators.

"We are expecting about 30 to 40 cars to compete in the race at the Taunovo Airstrip on Sunday," he said.

"And we are praying for good weather because racing on a wet track is really dangerous.

"Also on a clear, sunny day, a lot of spectators can come along with their families to enjoy the races."

Haniff said reigning champion Ravin Nath was the favourite to win yet another race but would face stiff competition from fellow racers.
