SUPPORT from mum on the grandstand inspired Sereseini Vesoka to jump to victory in the senior girls triple jump event at the Coca-Cola Games yesterday.

Vesoka said support from her mum in her preparations for the Fiji Finals was what gave her the edge

"I'm glad that I have my mom here to support me. She's been supporting me in my preparation towards this year's Coca-Cola Games."

After her win the 18-year-old Xavier College student encouraged young girls to follow their passion.

"Get out of your comfort zone and believe in yourself in what you do."

"I'm so glad and I'm overjoyed over what I have achieved today.

"Compared with last year, I've improved and I did my best, so thank you all to those who have been supporting me."

"Just looking back at my preparations, it has been really challenging and there have been a lot of sacrifices.

"All of that was worth it after today," she said.
