Bese sets new record, wins gold for Gospel

Update: 9:08PM YOUNIS Bese of Gospel High School set a new record in the intermediate girls' 100m final to win gold at the ANZ stadium tonight.

Bese earlier broke the record in the heats and repeated her winning performance in the final, setting a time of 12.2seconds.

The old record of 12.21 was set by Adi Cakobau School's Elenoa Sailosi in 2011.

Bese will also compete in the 200m finals tomorrow.
