Uluiyata breaks own record

Update: 8:58PM BATINISAVU Uluiyata of Natabua High School broke his own record in the 400m intermediate boys' final to win gold for his school.

He improved his old of 48.67s record set last year, with a new time of 48.34s to edge Queen Victoria School's Edward Sawailau who settled for silver.

Meanwhile, Jasper Williams High School's Mereseini Vukici retained her intermediate girls' 400m title, clocking a time of 58.50s. Catherine Balenagaga of Suva Grammar School came second.

In the girls' junior grade, Elenani Tinai of Tailevu North won gold in one of the upsets of the night.
