Nayacalevu double helps secure win

FLYING Fijian Waisea Nayacalevu scored two tries to help his Stade Francais side defeat Metuisela Talebula's Bordeaux-Begles 37-23 in the France Top 14 game over the weekend.

Nayacalevu's tries also helped the side jump to seventh spot on the points table with one round of games remaining.

The former national 7s rep was in superb form at outside centre and his blockbusting runs infield was a thorn in the opposition's side.

His combination with former Wallabies flyer Digby Iowane proved to be a handful for the opposition.

Meanwhile, in other Top 14 games, Fijian flyer Sevanaia Galala's try was not enough to give Brive a win as they went down 13-19 to Seremaia Burotu's Biarritz. Flying Fijians forwards Sisa Koyamaibole and Dominiko Waqaniburotu also featured for Brive.

Former national 7s winger Alipate Raitini's Grenoble team was held 21-all by Jo Rokocoko's Aviron Bayonnais while Sitiveni Sivivatu's Clermont side suffered an upset loss at the hands of Racing Metro 22-6.

Clermont was without Fijian flyers Napolioni Nalaga and Noa Naikataci.

Fijian winger Timoci Nagusa could not do much to help Montpellier as they went down 15-22 to Castres.

Former national skipper Akapusi Qera manned the open side flanker for Tolouse in their 19-all draw against Nemia Soqeta's Oyonnax.

In England's Aviva premiership, Fijian sensation Vereniki Goneva scored a try for Leicester Tigers in their 20-24 loss to Harlequins.
