Wie snaps LPGA title

KAPOLEI, Hawaii - Michelle Wie enjoyed playing her home course as she claimed her first LPGA Tour title since 2010 at the Lotte Championship in Hawaii.

The 24-year-old American shot a closing five-under par 67 to overhaul Angela Stanford for a two-shot victory yesterday.

Wie had six birdies, and not even a bogey at the final hole of the Ko Olina course in Kapolei, Hawaii could dim her joy at her third career LPGA crown.

"It feels good," said Wie, who won at 14-under par total of 274.

"I'm just so happy right now I can't think straight."

Fellow American Stanford took a four-stroke lead over Wie and Kim Hyo-Joo into the final round, but carded a one-over 73 that left her alone in second place.
