Update: 6:23PM FOUR men charged with the alleged murder of 49-year-old carpenter Vasu Dewan Naidu earlier this week have been denied bail by the Nadi Magistrates Court.

Mataiasi Ului, 30, Maikeli Loko, 31, Rakesh Kumar, 43 and Vinod Segran, 49 appeared before Magistrate Mosese Naivalu in a special court sitting this afternoon.

Mr Naivalu told the court the four were denied bail because of revelations there was a high chance they would interfere with state witnesses.

The proceedings have been transferred to Lautoka High Court and the next hearing would be on May 2.

The men have been remanded in custody at the Natabua Prison.
