NAIBALEYAGANIGA lass Vasemaca Rogocake is a step closer to realising her dream after walking away with the baton for the best female cadet yesterday.

The 17-year-old Year 13 student of All Saints Secondary School in Labasa was among 236 cadets who graduated during a parade at the school.

Aspiring army officer, Ms Rogocake said her award was the beginning of her walk towards her childhood dream.

"I hail from the green forests of Nayarabale in Cakaudrove and I must say that I am the proudest Naibaleyaganiga girl out there right now and this award is just the beginning of more to come," she said.

Best male cadet Michael Fong of Nakavika in Seaqaqa said the award was an achievement of a lifetime.
