13-year jail term for rape of young cousin

Update: 3:00PM A 21-YEAR-OLD man was sentenced to 13 years in jail this morning.

The man was convicted of raping his nine-year-old cousin last year.

After a trial he was found guilty by the assessors and the judge concurred with their opinion.

The man was told that his crime was heinous and the court had a duty to send a message to the society that such behaviour wont be tolerated. 

Eleven years has to be served before parole can be considered.
