GOLF

Gold Rush Golf tournament

INTERESTED golfers are invited to enter for one of Fiji's most prestigious amateur golfing events. Total events prize value $40,000. Four individual one-day net stroke play mixed tournaments with great prizes. The events will be held on May 3, June 7, July 12 and August 9. Points accumulate towards the major gold bar prize. FOOTBALL

Samabula

REQUESTING all Quality Aluminium Samabula FC players to start training for the 2014 Suva football local league competition. Quality Aluminium Samabula FC will be playing this weekend therefore requesting for players to be at the ground on time for the match on Sunday. Suva

SUVA referees meeting at Buckhurst Park at 6pm on Wednesday. Suva players are requested to attend training from 5.30pm at Buckhurst Park tomorrow.

New Vision Bure

A NETBALL tournament will be held at the Wainibuka School grounds on May 1 and 2. Only the first 12 teams to pay $70 entry fee will be accommodated. Winner gets $300 and runner-up will get $150. Contact Viri on 9513657.

Tailevu

THE Tailevu Netball Association season opening knockout will be held on May 3 at the Vunivivi Multi-Purpose Court from 10am. Registration fee $150. Closing date for registrations is May 1. Registration forms could be collected from Unaisi on 9330349 or Losana on 9268347 or Miriama on 9906300. All teams are to bring a plate each for morning tea. President Unaisi Ravouvou will be the chief guest.

Suva

THIS is to inform all NewWorld Suva Netball Association affiliates and those wishing to participate in the Suva Netball Association that our Suva Netball knockout will be held on April 26 at the National Netball Centre. Registrations forms are available upon request and team registration is $200 per team. All teams are required to pay their registration before the knockout on April 26. RUGBY

Skipper Cup Round 3 deferred

The Fiji Rugby Union wishes to advise the Provincial Unions and its stakeholders that Round 3 of the Skipper Cup has been deferred to a later date. Round 3 was scheduled to be played this weekend, 19 April 2014, but the union has deferred it to a later date because of the Easter long weekend.

New Vision Bure 7s

THE tournament will be held at Wainibuka Secondary School ground on May 1 and 2. Fee is $200 and only 24 teams will be accommodated. The main prize is $1700 and runner-up gets $800. Prizes also for plate and bowl winners. Entry fee due on April 29. Contact 9000279 or 9513657 for more information.

Serua Circuit 7s

THE tournament will be held on May 1 and 2 in Serua. Required teams are 32. Entry fee is $100 per team. Main prize $1000. Registrations close on April 25. Contact Ilaitia Yali 9373201, Jone Moceacagi 9080047, Akariva Vueti 8739227.

Wainivula Eels

THE Wainivula Eels rugby club is inviting Fijians of Indian descent interested in representing the club for the 2014 Indo rugby season. Training is held at Albert Park from 5.30pm. Contact Alvin Nair on 9270071.

Wairiki

THE Wairiki Logging Limited 7s tournament will be held on Jun 27 and 28 at the Wairiki (Bua) village grounds. Entry fee is $200 and prizemoney is $2000. There will also be a competition for netball, volleyball and U18 rugby. Contact 9721713 or 8381176 or 8460004 or 9216840.

Yamacia 7s

THE Yamacia 7s tournament will be held at Vatureba Park on May 7 and 8. Entry fee is $350 and total prizemoney is $10,000. Cup winner will walk away with $5000. Contact - 8023746 or email david@yamacia.com.

VOLLEYBALL

Naisoso Sports Club

TEAMS are invited for a volleyball competition to be held at Qanville Estate Park in Nasoso, Nadi on April 26. The first 16 men's teams and eight women's teams that pay their registration fees of $80 and $50 respectively will be allowed to participate. Contact Isimeli 9948607 or Josefa 997881.

NewWorld Delai Kadavu

TEAMS are invited for the tournament to be held at Sale's Court in Savai Place, Kinoya, on the June 14. First 16 men's team that pay their registration fees of $90 will be allowed to participate. Contact Jim 9259744/7236801.

Ovea

THE Ovea volleyball tournament will be held at the village grounds on May 3. First 20 teams to pay the registration fee of $50 will be accommodated. Men's winner get $400 and women's winner gets $200. Contact Peceli Tui on 8442945 or 8032646.
