Fiji: Champ for regionalism

GERALDINE PANAPASA
Thursday, April 10, 2014

Update: 2:35PM FIJI has always been a champion of regionalism.

And according to Minister for Industry and Trade, and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, this was a reason Fiji continued negotiating the comprehensive economic partnership agreement with the rest of the region.

Speaking at the opening of the Pacific-African Caribbean Pacific trade and fisheries ministers meeting in Suva this morning, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said they only wanted one EPA for the region, which would promote regional integration instead of division.
