Devotees end fast

RAM Naumi is considered an auspicious occasion for many Hindu believers around the country.

It is the time when devotees end their nine days of praying and fasting and celebrate the birth of Lord Rama.

Many people around the country take time out to celebrate with fellow believers, friends and family.

Vatuwaqa Shree Ram Krishna Mandir president Ashok Prasad said they had been fasting and praying for the past nine days which ended yesterday.

He said for the devotees Ram Naumi was about praying for loved ones, peace and prosperity for the country.
