Vosavakadu shines for Babas

FLYER Matakai Vosavakadu was the toast of the Waqadra Babas team scoring a hat-trick of tries to help his side defeated Team 27's 7-2 in the first round of the Nadi Rugby Touch Association competition on Saturday.

Vosavakadu combined well with his skipper Sakiusa Saunokonoko when on attack inside the opposition territory.

Babas win has moved them to the top of the points table in the men category.

In other men's games Nacava Spartans edged Namaka Mozzies 4-3, Marines scraped past the PTZ's 4- 3. Taki Mai while Turbos won by default over Narewa-based Saint Michael.

In the under-15 grade Waqadra Babas skipper Jone Kau was instrumental in their 3-1 win over Namaka Mozzies.

In the mixed category Turbos thumped Pacific Destination 7-2, Namaka Mozzies downed Insurance Fiji 5-3 while Taki Mai and Waqadra Babas won by default over Nacava Spartans and LBD Saints respectively.

The competition continues this weekend.
