Regional co-operation to address issues

Repeka Nasiko
Thursday, April 03, 2014

ACTING Minister for Transport, Energy and Public Utilities Jone Usamate says regional co-operation will best address issues such as sustainable development and rising fuel prices.

He made the comment while opening the Second Pacific Regional Energy and Transport Ministers meeting in Nadi this week,

Mr Usamate said some form of regional integration of national efforts and pooling of resources by national governments and development partners were required.

"Though as Pacific people we have common development problems that are common to all of us, problems in areas of energy and transport services, we are still confident that we can seek and find solutions to our development problems in Pacific Way dialogue."
