Accident leaves one dead, three in hospital

Update: 11:32AM A 73-year-old man is dead after the vehicle he was travelling in went off the road at Tagitagi, Tavua, on Monday night.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the victim was travelling in a four-wheel-drive with five others when it went off the road around 11pm.

"The driver and two other passengers are still admitted at the Lautoka Hospital while two others were treated and sent home," Ms Naisoro said.

"A post mortem (examination) will be conducted soon and investigators will await doctors' approval before questioning the driver and other passengers."
