Sharma wins event

VIKRANT Sharma won the Six Reds League round three snooker competition at the South Seas Club in Lautoka on Wednesday.

Sharma was in good form showing good potting skills.

The 17-year-old defeated Rajnesh Nand 2-0 in the final.

In the semi-final Sharma beat Ajesh Chand 2-0 while Nand created the biggest upset of the night downing former Fiji number three Nitesh Chand 2-1 in an exciting clash.

Nitesh bounced back to win the third and fourth place playoffs beating Ajesh 2-0.

North West Billiards and Snooker Association tournament co-ordinator Raymond Reddy said 13 players competed in the mid-week event.

Raymond said top players like Simon Reddy, Philip Gock and Navneil Maharaj failed to reach the semi-final.

Lautoka Club and Nadi Sports Club will host the weekly competition this evening.
