A NATIONAL under-19 rugby league side will tour Australia during the term one two-week school holidays.

This was confirmed by Southern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby League Association official Biu Colati who said there would be trials for the team during the national quarter-final this weekend in Lautoka.

"The U19 side will have a three-match tour of Australia during the school holidays," Colati said.

"But their main match will be the curtain-raiser to the Fiji versus Samoa clash which will be the qualifier for the Four Nations."

The trials this weekend may be the final trials the organisers may conduct.

"The quarter-finals in the under-19 grade will be the trials for those teams that are still in the competition

"Those schools that are out of the competition are requested to send their best players for the trials at Churchill Park in Lautoka before the quarter-finals."

He said the players would be divided into East and West and would be required to feature in a traditional curtain-raiser match.

"There is not much time left until the school holidays, so we want to name the side as soon as possible.

"The semi-finals could be a trial but the main trial is the quarter-finals for those schools that are still in the title race."
