Call for tolerance

Dawn Gibson
Sunday, March 23, 2014

THE world marked International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on Friday with organisations calling for the promotion of a culture of peace, tolerance and coexistence within ethnic groups.

One such organisation is the Citizens Constitutional Forum, which is working towards removing barriers that exist as a result of racial discrimination in Fiji.

"Racial intolerance continues to divide our nation and has been one of the main causes of the social and political conflict that has disrupted Fiji," said CCF chief executive Reverend Akuila Yabaki in a statement yesterday.
