$3.4m WAF upgrade begins

Update: 5:06PM WATER Authority of Fiji started their $3.4million upgrade at the Waila treatment plant this afternoon.

The infrastructure upgrade has forced WAF to shutdown water supply to most areas around Suva and Nausori. 

Residents living within the affected areas were given prior notification to store enough water to meet their needs during the disruption. 

Carting services will be provided to the affected areas.Water supply is expected to normalise tomorrow evening.

Meanwhile, the National Fire Authority has advised the public not to start fires especially in areas affected by the water shutdown.
