GPH hosts fashion week

FIJI Fashion Week Limited yesterday launched their 2014 show at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

The organisation's managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said it was an honour for them to launch Fiji's largest fashion show at such an iconic venue.

"So we decided this was the perfect venue for an event such as ours because this is an iconic building, it is a landmark building, it's the oldest hotel in Fiji, it has hosted The Queen on two occasions as well as Prince Charles," Mrs Whippy-Knight said yesterday.

"The hotel, for such an event like ours, is too brilliant, grand events that will help the economy of Fiji."

Echoing her comments was GPH general manager Eugen Diethelm who said it would be an experience Fiji would remember and that they were looking forward to the show.

"It's a pleasure for us to host the FJFW, in general fashion has to do with lifestyle and some luxury and that is like our hotel also — it's lifestyle — we bring a totally new style of hotel to Suva and I thought that is the right way to join FJFW."

FJFW 2014 will be held between May 27 and 31 this year, with May 26 being set aside for a special fashion and design forum before the show kicks off on May 27.

FJFW marks its seventh year running this year.
