Missing five rescued at sea

Update: 2:14PM FIVE people who were reported missing at sea yesterday have been rescued.

The five were reported missing after leaving  Ucunivanua, Verata in Tailevu in a white and orange half cabin fibre glass boat which was also carrying 20 pine posts to Uluibau, Moturiki.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the group were rescued at sea off Ratu Kadavulevu School in Lodoni by a Leleuvia Island Resort boat.

"All occupants are well and safe and have been taken back to Uluibau Village, Moturiki Island," Ms Naisoro said.

"The Fiji Police Force would like to extend its appreciation to those who assisted in the search and rescue as well as the media for the quick dissemination of information."
