TWO Nadi teenagers have died as a result of drowning.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said police discovered the bodies of two youths on Monday after conducting a two-day search in the Nadi River.

"The two (aged 15 and 17) had gone swimming on Saturday afternoon along the Namotomoto area and failed to return," she said.

"This prompted a search to be conducted immediately after. The search continued on Sunday but had negative results.

"On Monday morning the search continued whereby the bodies were found a few metres down the river."

She said a post-mortem examination would be conducted soon and investigations were continuing into the cause of the incident.
