Torika Tokalau
Wednesday, March 19, 2014

FIJIANS could be recruited into renowned liner shipping service Swire Shipping if legislations and issues of recruitment talks with stakeholders are successful.

Operated by the China Navigation Company Pte Ltd, Swire Shipping has an excess of 60 ships that offer shipping links more than 130 ports around the world.

Managers from the Asian shipping company visited several stakeholders and institutions yesterday with hopes of recruiting Fijians for their offshore vessels.

Fiji Maritime Workers Association general manager Tomasi Kete said they were fortunate to have company officials come all the way from Asia to recruit Fijian nationals.
