Accident driver questioned and released

Update: 3:50PM THE police have questioned and released a 29-year-old man believed to have been the driver of the vehicle that hit and killed a 11-year-old boy in Nausori last Friday.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the Nausori Special School student ran across the main road in Nausori towards the Nausori Bus Stand when he was hit by the car.

She said the man was taken in for questioning but no charges have been laid.

The police are also awaiting an autopsy report.
