Tremors felt in the North

Update: 11:15AM A MEDIUM size earthquake had Labasa residents slightly shaken last night.

The Seismology Unit confirms that an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale with a shallow depth occurred on Fijis Hunter Fracture Zone to the north.

The event was also confirmed to the authorities through telephone by residents of Labasa Town and nearby areas.

Its epicentre was located 53 kilometres East-north-east of Udu Point.
