Parents in court

Friday, March 14, 2014

A COUPLE who pleaded guilty to manslaughter will know their fate in three weeks as the State prosecution yesterday asked for time to make sentencing submissions.

Mesake Rabuvau and Salote Selema admitted being responsible for the death of their two-year-old child.

The court heard that because of the couple's negligence, the toddler fell into a ditch behind their home in Tailevu and died.

The prosecution has been given three weeks to file their submission, after which the court will sentence the couple.
