POWER supply was restored to the Western Division yesterday morning.
Fiji Electricity Authority CEO Hasmukh Patel said the lightning strike on Monday caused a power blackout in Viti Levu on Monday.
"The power supply was restored in the Central Division the same evening but the Western Division was without power," he said.
"The lightning strike on the 132,000volts transmission line that transports power from the Wailoa power station to the Western Division of Viti Levu had been damaged and was out of operation. Power supply to the affected areas in the Western Division was brought back into service by 9.30am yesterday."
