Widow $30k richer

A widow and four children are $30,000 richer after a lucky scratch at the RC Manubhai Lotto in Ba on International Women's Day.

Fiji Tattslotto executive director Graeme Brown said the woman would not be named until she was officially handed her cheque this week.

"She is a 52-year-old widow with two girls and two boys and is from Varadoli in Ba," he said.

"She was so happy and kept repeating $30,000 then said the money would be shared by her children and used to renovate their home."

Mr Brown said she had scratched the ticket last Friday but the win was confirmed yesterday.

"There are four more prizes to be won."
